1 review for Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You

Thought I’d give a bit lengthy of a review as it’s the first one on this site.

This is an absolutely brilliant book. It is everything that reviewers claim it to be: very fast-paced, clever, colloquial yet poignant, well-researched, and the type of book you simply cannot put down. I did not realise that it is kind of a ‘simplified’ version of author Ibram X. Kendi’s original book, “Stamped from the Beginning,” but it still reads thoughtful, informative, and highly approachable. Around Chapter 7 (the chapters go fast) I went online to purchase “Stamped from the Beginning,” and I can’t wait to read a book similar to this one, only a bit deeper in terms of information and context (hence, seen as a more ‘adult’ book, whilst “Stamped: Racism, Antiracism and You” is considered more of a teenage-level read). I myself am past my teenage years, but this book still felt like an appropriate pace, so I finished it rather than switching over to “Stamped from the Beginning,” and I’m so glad that I did. A wonderful read. Started the first “Stamped” book last night (already enjoying it!), looking forward to finishing it and moving on to Kendi’s “How to be an Antiracist.”
